Two very different visits

A visual inspection looks at the tank and obvious surface signs. A full or "comprehensive" inspection opens the tank, measures sludge and scum layers, checks baffles and filters, and evaluates the drainfield under load.

What a good report includes

Tank size and material, liquid level, sludge depth, baffle condition, drainfield condition, any monitoring equipment, and clear photos.

Expect a range depending on system type, access and whether pumping is included. Get the scope in writing.
