Where listing data comes from

Listings are compiled from publicly available sources such as state and county licensing records and business registrations, plus information submitted by providers who claim their listing. Where we have a source, it is recorded with the listing.

Verification and “last verified” dates

A “last verified” date means an editor or the claimed owner confirmed the key details on that date. It is not a guarantee of current licensing, bonding, insurance or workmanship. Records that have not been confirmed within the configured window are flagged for re-verification.

What providers can and cannot edit

Claimed providers can edit descriptions, services, service areas, hours, photos and contact details. License numbers, licensing authority, license status, verification status and source links remain under editorial control.

Paid placement

Featured listings and county sponsors pay for placement and are labeled as such everywhere they appear. Payment never changes licensing information, verification status, or the content of our guides. Display advertising is clearly marked and is not placed directly beside provider contact buttons.

Corrections

Every profile has a “Report incorrect information” link. We review reports and update or remove listings as needed. Businesses that have closed or lost licensing are archived.

Demo data

While the directory is being built out, sample listings are clearly labeled “Demo”. They are fictional, carry no real license numbers, and are not recommendations.
